Creativity is a Sin

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Let me preface this entry by saying one thing:

Every creative project I have created with a group of people has failed either immediately… or within a few attempts.

Now, to the story. I have created quite a few things in my short time alive, all of which were obviously not quality products. However, the quality is not the point of my disappointment. Every creation has been what it is.

I am currently, yet again, being shut down. I am the only person I know, who can keep something up, creatively, for more than one attempt. Every person I have worked with creatively, with very few exceptions, has given. Yet I keep on going.

Whether they get sick of it, burn out quickly, run out of money, or some other reasons… they give up. I, however, continue to burn on the imaginary fuel that flows within my body.

Why can I not find a person like this to work with creatively? Where do these creatures exist? Are there no work-machines such as myself that exist outside of accounting, legal work, or investment banking?

I will never be part of a group with energy to match my own. I don’t think it exists. Longevity, Infinite. Ian’s creativity battle, Zero.

I guess, in the end… Creativity really is a sin.

I’m sure many of you have seen this, but for those who haven’t… watch and enjoy. It’s NSFW and contains many profanities. I think that just drives the comedy even more, because of it’s strong social satire.

Not Now Chief

My New Haircut was created by L2XProductions. (or here) The film mocks the entire Jersey/Queens/Long Island “Guido” scene. It’s hilarious.

Today at work I had an awesome photographer Jason Thorgalsen take a photo of me wearing my co-worker Lindsey’s sunglasses.

Also, check out some more awesome photos by Jason on his website at http://jtphotos.net.

See below for some of my photos using his wonderful camera and lenses.

When you upset co-workers by saying “I didn’t know today was Barney, The Purple Dinosaur Day,” you’re in for a beating.

Scott and Vanessa decided to insult Joe and the IT team, and they weren’t happy.

Once the drama began… I, being a paparazzi photographer, decided to jump to my toes and run across the office to photograph the action as it unfolded.

Joe, being the anti-paparazzi, decided to direct all of his anger towards the camera man. Yeah, always blame the camera man. Jerks.

Joe Mad At Paparazzi

I tried to run, but it didn’t work. Luckily my acting photo finger snapped him before he caught up to me.
