Dionysos: Tais Toi Mon Coeur

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

I was pointed to this video recently, and it is absolutely stunning. I’ve watched it a few times now and I am completely sucked in.

If anybody can tell me more about it, who may know, I’d love to learn.

From what I can tell, it’s a music video for a French band called Dionysos, and the song is entitled “Tais Toi Mon Coeur,” from their latest album La Mecanique du Coeur.

I am reminded of Tim Burton’s work, like The Nightmare Before Christmas, and A Corpse Bride. More importantly, it looks like something that The Brothers Quay would produce. I am also reminded of some of the puppetry in Jan Švankmajer’s “Faust“.

This video is utterly amazing work. I am in love with it.

Garage 419 Presents: Rascal Rally

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

For those of you who have an opinion, aka, all of you… this show is for you. However, there’s one catch. You have to like cars, or be interested in the automotive world beyond the typical “I drive a Cobalt” person.

This is a short project that we filmed while in Las Vegas for Fast Lane Daily’s coverage of SEMA. Now it is not at all related to the rest of Garage419, except for the fact that both Matt Farah and Alex Roy, the two drivers in the video below.

Watch and enjoy. And when you’re done… subscribe to Garage419 because there is much more to come. A whole ton of awesome.

A Day in the Life of Film Fights

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

This afternoon I had the pleasure of spending time with Justin Johnson of One Trick, Erik Beck of Indy Mogul, and a few others.

They were making a short film for a contest between 3 other groups from Film Fights. The goal was to create fully in-camera edited short and finish by 5:00 PM.

Here are some photographs of the day as it progressed.

7-11 becomes Kwik-E-Mart

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

This wonderful transformation of a few 7-11’s throughout the country, in preparation for the Simpson movie, has grabbed some people by storm. I was one of these people.

We took a trip during our lunch break to the only 7-11 in NYC that had been modified for promotional purposes. It was one interesting and nostalgic experience. I immediately began doing my best Apu impressions throughout the ride up to 9th Ave and 42nd street.

No trip to the Kwik-E-Mart could be complete without a delicious Squishee.

And of course, Buzz Cola…

Last but not least, the friendly Apu (well, in this case, Evan) showcased the Kwik-E-Mart uniform.

Thank you for coming, I’ll see you in hell. More pictures coming tonight.
